Henry Darger

I am not really too sure if Henry Darger was "mentally ill" i think he definitely had psychological problems and he was different. The people that knew Henry best knew how to treat him, but most people were standoffish towards him, they didn't know how to act around him so most of the time they just didn't even give him the time of day. Henry was creative, his mind and imagination were out of this world. There never has been nor will there ever be an individual that can recreate what he did. He's art will be talked about for a long time to come i think, he is a visionary, someone that sees things that most people either over look or never look to. I think he was truly creative and we should continue to study his material and look for more people to be like him. 

are you creative?

In my eyes creativity is something that you’re brought up to believe, your parents, family, teachers, coach’s, everyone tells you to be creative in whatever you do. Its something that changes throughout your life though its different from when your little, creating monsters or a type of game, to being a little older and having to create a way to do everyday obstacles. At an even older age you such as college, you have to create a way to learn or to write a paper or finish a homework assignment that you know nothing about. It has a very large spectrum, being creative could make you money; it could hurt you or people around you or make you seem weird or odd. I know for myself that I have to be creative on the golf course; sometimes I have a tree in front of me that I may have to hit a draw, slice, or even hit under it.

            In some cases people live and die by creativity, in the work place if your boss asks you to create a presentation to gain rights to an account of another company you better pull through. All professional athletes have to be creative, an NBA player has to find a way to make it to the hoop or fool his defender so that his team scores and ultimately wins. In other words creativity is essential to life, successful people are usually always creative and it is because they have to be, its how they get ahead and make people want to keep them around. Its something that everyone has to opportunity to have or become, it just take a little bit of time and effort, it opens so many more doors for people and success will follow. You just need to be able to recognize how to be creative and everything else will follow.
